Scripture References: Luke 24:49
"49 And, behold , I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
- God is getting us ready for a major transition, not to bring glory to ourselves. It is to bring even more glory to Him. Also, it is to get us prepared to go back with Him, when He comes for us. So, God is getting us prepared, in order to propel us into this major transition. What God is getting us ready for is going to be on a major scale. Especially, for those who have had to go through major hell. Again, we are talking about the major transition from the Jesus ministry to the Church ministry. So, Jesus had to get them prepared for what was to come.
- As we examine this scripture (Lk. 24:49), this is the story of preparation for major transition. Jesus knew this, so He tells them that "the promise" was coming to carry them into the next phase of ministry. If there is going to be a major transition, then there has to be something that God is going to have to make happen. Every major transition is contingent upon the word "but". This could require you to talk to, submit to, or separate from someone. It is contingent upon whether or not we follow the next instructions from God. Here in this scripture, this "but" is about waiting. The church mentality is we don't mind waiting, but we really don't want to wait. When we know we have transition coming, we want to go forward in it, but in this season, God wants us to wait. This waiting, is a wait, not for the sake of waiting, but for the sake of us not getting in front of God, and taking the lead. God doesn't want us to mess this up. God wants to be the one doing the leading. There has been a nudging from the Holy Ghost, that there is going to be a change in the way that we are going. Sometimes, we try to anticipate the movements of God, but we need to understand that God is the usher, and He is in charge. We have to make sure we are in the divine timing of God.
- David is a good example of one that waited on his divine timing to be the king of Israel. He was anointed as a teen, but did not get to the kingship until he was in his thirties. So, Jesus wanted the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem, and wait until they be endued with power. Now, this until means that there is going to be a signal, a sign that the transition is happening. Major transition is not going to happen until the signal comes. Let's examine the life of Moses. Moses fled from the palace because he had murdered someone. He was content on being a sheep herder, until he had a divine meeting God, via the burning bush. God transitioned him from murderer to deliverer. The next word is ye (you). Until it happens for you. God has something that He wants to do in you. Major transition will not happen until you become what God wants you to be. God cannot transition you until you get into the place where He needs you to be. So, we in actuality, are not waiting on God, but God is waiting on us.
- The next word is endued. In the Greek, the endowment (to be endued), which is the Holy Ghost, means to be sinking into a garment. It means to be arrayed or clothed with something that will change your identity. It will change you and give you access into something that you couldn't get into on your own. It's about sinking into the garment, and becoming one with the garment. This garment is not meant to be taken on and off. God wants us to be so clothed in the garment. Also, endued, means to invest in the Glory. God is going to the spiritual store and buying, and investing into what we need to have on us.
- The last thing to note, is that God wants us to have "power from on High". A major transition, sustaining where we are going is going to be engineered from the power from on High. Not church power, but God's power. We don't have to retreat from the enemy with this power. When Peter received the power, he stood up, and spoke with power about Jesus. In his carnality, he was a coward that denied Jesus previously, but the power of God had risen in him, and he was not afraid anymore. This is what we need to make ourselves ready for a major transition. Remember that every transition is contingent upon a "but". What is God requiring of you to propel you into your major transition? Seek God, because there is going to be a MAJOR TRANSITION!!!
